Who was Madam Takatka?
Madam Hawayo Takata was a Japanese-American woman who played a pivotal role in bringing Reiki to the West in the 1930s. Trained by Dr. Chujiro Hayashi in Japan, she became one of the first Reiki Masters outside of Japan and helped spread Reiki throughout the United States. Her impact on Reiki’s growth was immense, but her methods and approach were controversial.
