Reiki Talk

Sage & Lotus Reiki

Paula Garcia Paula Garcia

Welcome.

It all begins with an idea.

I want to preface this corner of my website with the acknowledgment that I am not the "traditional" energy healer you may have encountered before. My approach to healing is somewhat unconventional, and I feel a strong urge to redefine the landscape of energy work.

This blog is a space where I share my personal experiences, offer practical advice, and add my voice to conversations happening within the energy healing world—especially the ones that aren't always easy or comfortable to talk about. My goal isn't to create division, but to offer an honest, grounded perspective that invites critical thinking, authenticity, and growth.

Here, you’ll find posts about my own healing journey, insights from teaching and practicing Reiki, and commentary on trends and topics that deserve a closer look.

Examples of the kinds of topics I might explore:

  • Why energy healing should never replace critical thinking

  • The problem with giving psychic "readings" after Reiki sessions

  • How Reiki can support resilience and self-trust, not dependency

  • The myth of "blocked chakras"

  • Why Holy Fire® Reiki feels different—and what that actually means

  • What people misunderstand about distance healing

  • The importance of boundaries in energy work (for both practitioners and clients)

  • Why authenticity matters more than polished marketing in healing work

The Problem with Giving Psychic "Readings" After Reiki Sessions

It all begins with an idea.

After a Reiki session, it’s standard for a practitioner to check in with the recipient. Many times, the recipient will express how they feel—lighter, refreshed, rejuvenated, more relaxed, clear-headed, or simply well-rested. These are beautiful, authentic responses that deserve to be honored.

However, what I often see happening is that the energy healer’s ego steps in and unintentionally bulldozes over the recipient’s experience. Instead of simply witnessing the client’s genuine feelings, the practitioner offers a "psychic hit" or shares what they "picked up on" during the session.
And just like that, the focus shifts away from how the recipient feels and toward the practitioner's interpretation.

This can be incredibly deflating. It can make the recipient second-guess their own experience, wonder if how they feel is "enough," or start questioning whether they missed something deeper or more significant.
It can even feel a little bit like gaslighting—where a person is nudged to doubt their own real, valid experience.

I caution strongly against giving psychic readings after Reiki sessions for this reason.
True Reiki healing does not require interpretation or explanation.

Reiki simply is.

It works in ways that often can’t (and shouldn't) be dissected or rushed. Healing unfolds over time, often in subtle, deeply personal ways that are far beyond what a single post-session comment could ever sum up.

Offering a psychic "hit" immediately after a session risks reducing an entire healing process down to one fleeting interpretation—and that’s not fair to the work Reiki is doing or to the recipient’s own journey.

As Reiki practitioners, our job is to hold space, not narrate it.
Trust the energy. Trust the recipient. Trust that healing doesn’t always need to be explained to be real.

Why Holy Fire® Reiki Feels Different—And What That Actually Means

It all begins with an idea.

Holy Fire® Reiki didn’t just add something to my life—it changed the way I live. It has become a practical tool to manage stress, connect with myself, and stay grounded no matter what was going on around me. It’s more than just a healing technique. It has become something I lean on—like a trusted companion I could call on anytime I needed clarity, peace, or strength.

One of the things I love most about Holy Fire® Reiki is how easy it is to use and teach. The attunement process during a class feels so easy to conduct and powerful for the student to experience— it's hard to explain until you experience it for yourself. This is because it’s something that evolves over time with each individual.

Another thing that sets Holy Fire® apart is that once you're attuned as a Reiki Master, you’re empowered to give yourself healing experiences anytime.
I can re-attune myself, offer myself healing, and feel the connection to this beautiful energy whenever I need it.

The variety of healing experiences it offers is another reason why it’s so special.
Holy Fire® has tools for deep energetic cleanses, for helping with spirit release processes, and for guiding deep personal healing. The energy itself continues to evolve with you over time — it’s not stagnant. As you grow, it grows with you.

Holy Fire® Reiki has also become one of my most powerful meditation tools.
I’ve never considered myself a "skilled" meditator — quieting my mind was never easy. But when I started using Holy Fire® Reiki during meditation, it was like getting on a bullet train to the theta brainwave state.
It even helped me have mystical experiences.

I love that with Holy Fire®, the "veil" feels thinner.
When I want to connect inwardly, I can. When I want clarity or direction, it feels like I’m able to access it more easily, without forcing anything. It’s a very natural, grounded sense of connection — not something I have to "chase."

Most importantly, Holy Fire® Reiki has been a source of hope and calm during stressful times.
It’s become a permanent fixture in my life — not just as a healing technique, but as a spiritual companion.
It’s something I can call on at any time of day, whether life feels overwhelming, uncertain, or beautiful. It’s helped me become more resilient, more positive, and more grounded as a person—and as a mom.

That’s what makes Holy Fire® Reiki so different for me.
It’s not just energy work. It’s a way of living more connected, more hopeful, and more fully rooted in who I really am.

The Myth of "Blocked Chakras"

It all begins with an idea.

One of the most common phrases I hear in the energy healing world is:
"Your chakras are blocked."

It sounds serious. It sounds like a problem that needs fixing immediately.
But let’s slow down and really think about it for a second.

The truth is: energy is always moving.
Our chakras — like the rest of us — are dynamic, living, responsive. They aren’t mechanical switches that get "stuck" forever or need to be forcefully "unblocked."
Energy naturally ebbs, flows, expands, contracts. That’s part of being human.

When people say your chakra is "blocked," what they often mean is that there's a disharmony or a sluggishness in how that particular aspect of your life or energy is expressing itself. Maybe you’re feeling disconnected from your voice (throat chakra), or maybe you're carrying extra emotional weight (heart chakra). But that doesn't mean your energy center is broken or sealed off.
It means there’s an opportunity for support, awareness, and healing — not judgment.

The problem with throwing around terms like "blocked chakras" is that it can make people feel like they’re flawed or that something is wrong with them.
It feeds the idea that you constantly need someone else to "fix" you or that you’re not enough as you are.
That’s not healing — that’s fear.

In my experience, true energy healing, including Reiki, isn't about diagnosing, labeling, or fixing.
It’s about creating the conditions for balance to return naturally. It’s about reminding the body and spirit what it already knows how to do: heal itself.

You don’t need someone to tell you that you're broken.
Your chakras aren’t frozen or blocked beyond repair.
Energy moves. Healing happens. Trust that.
